business
In CATCHPLus heritage institutions, scientists and businesses cooperate on developing innovative software for the heritage sector.
In the research programme CATCH (start in 2004) teams of researchers and heritage institutions search new ways to describe and disclose digital archive material. This results in interesting prototypes with special opportunities. The CATCH programme supported 17 projects so far. The first projects have been finished.
To ensure the valorization of the research results, CATCHPlus has been created. Within this project knowledge and prototypes will be consolidated to reliable applications that can be used in the daily practice of the heritage institutions.
Companies play an important role in developing these operational applications. The development of new business models for public – private cooperation is necessary to collaborate structurally and sustainably. Kennisland has executed a stakeholder analysis supporting the development of these business models.
In CATCHPlus several software developers work on the finalization of consolidated software components.
Products from CATCHPlus are built using Open Source software components. They are widely applicable and, because of their innovative character, very promising.
