software and services

Subprojects
Subprojects that follow up on one or more specific CATCH projects, work on developing tools and services. These are fit to the daily practice of the participating heritage institution. They are tested in at least one other institution that is part of the CATCHPlus project. And an independent user committee tests their usability.

Infrastructure
To be able to ensure that these tools really do work within more than one institution, the participating institutions have to apply the same standards. A central infrastructure, enabling institutions to share information and software, is necessary.
Within CATCHPlus, the first steps have been taken to help implement OAI-PMH and to introduce persistent identifiers within the participating heritage institutions.

Common services
Besides this, a number of services are offered that are more specific to the heritage sector. A Vocabulary and Alignment Repository is being developed to connect terminologies and offer them to one another. An annotation repository is being developed for the joint storage and management of annotation data.
In some subprojects services are developed that are widely applicable or that may gain value from usage between institutions. The project office participates in realizing these services.
