heritage
Nine heritage institutions cooperate in CATCHPlus to develop new applications to disclose their digital archives. These institutions have participated in one of the research projects in CATCH. The prototypes that have been developed in CATCH, will in CATCHPlus be developed into reliable applications that can be used by other institutions as well.
The products from CATCHPlus have to be usable in more than one institution or on more than one collection. To guarantee this, the products will be tested within at least one institution participating in CATCHPlus.
In addition to this a user committee has been set up, existing of representatives of 9 different heritage institutions. This committee takes a critical look at the products and offers the chance to test the products in the context of their own heritage arena. This enables them to judge how generic and usable the software really is.
Cooperating on new applications means a lot of information and software will be exchanged. To ensure this running smoothly, CATCHPlus helps to develop a common infrastructure. By assisting the introduction of standards we make sure all participants speak the same language.
The collaboration of heritage, science and businesses in CATCHPlus leads to the development of new business models for public- private cooperation.
